Who's Got Your Back?

While attending our annual ERA International Business Conference last month, I was inspired as I listened to Keith Ferrazzi  (author of Who's Got Your Back) speak about his modest beginnings and positive approach to life. He spoke of the random people in his life that had made simple, yet extraordinary gestures that helped change his life and instill in him a philosophy to try to find ways to truly care about other people. Trying to apply Ferrazzi’s platform to my life, I was struck that for those of us in the real estate industry we have a unique opportunity to have 'the back' of our clients.
 
Do our buyers and sellers feel that the real estate industry has their back? I've read that sellers are angry about the value of their homes. How can we help?  If we truly care, and guide our clients through the maze of transacting the largest and argueably the most emotional decision of their life with skill, integrity, and empathy, isn't that truly having their back? Now that I'm paying attention, I'm hearing amazing stories of how we are doing the little things for each other that will help us build a stronger community.
